Making the Movie; Reflection

I am a huge fan of these books, and I was incredibly excited when I found out they were being adapted to film. As far as the making of the movie, I think everything was perfect. Lions Gate produced one of my favorite horror franchises- Saw. I agree that Jennifer Lawrence was the perfect person to play Katniss, because her performances in Winter’s Bone and X-Men: First Class were outstanding. Although, I must say I am a huge Emma Roberts fan and thought she would have been a great choice, as well as Shailene Woodley of ABC Family’s Secret Life of the American Teenager. I do not think there was anyone better for the role of Peeta, because I’d seen Josh Hutcherson in some of his younger films- RV, Zathura, and Bridge to Terabithia- and I even pictured him playing Peeta while reading the novels, before I had become aware that he had been cast for the role. As far as filming the movie, I think North Carolina was a great set, because it has the correct terrain for the plot of the novel.
As much as I loved the movie, I must say I love the soundtrack more. I had previewed the album before its release, and I loved every track. On its release date, I bought it. It is totally and completely worth the $15.95 I spent. I think every artist featured on the album did an amazing job. The Civil Wars never fail to impress me, and I loved both of their tracks on the album. Taylor Swift left her typical style of music and completely steered away from her comfort zone, and she surprised me with both of her performances. The track provided by Arcade Fire was a little weird at first, but the more I listened to “Abraham’s Daughter,” the more I liked it. Maroon 5’s track- “Come Away to the Water”- impressed me most. None of the Maroon 5 songs I’ve heard sound remotely close to this one, and I fell in love with it. The Miranda Lambert and Kid Cudi tracks are probably my least favorite on the album; although, they are great. This album has great music and the artists do a great job of putting the emotion and story of The Hunger Games into their tracks.
